Monthly Muse: This and That
Concerts this weekend, summer resources, and a few things just for fun
If you’re local, come out and see me at Bellevue Chamber Chorus’ last two concerts of the season this Saturday and Sunday! We have an exciting program of dance music to share with you, complete with live dancers! You’ll see a waltz, tango, samba, traditional Irish dances, and more. We have a fabulous band accompanying the choir and dancers, alongside yours truly. I’d love to see you there! For more info and tickets, click here.
May-cember is bursting with activity: my last group lessons for the school year, prep for summer (see resources below!), getting my eldest daughter ready to graduate from high school next week (eek!), and new projects like the gorgeous Barber violin concerto (link below). I hope you are finding time amidst all the busy-ness to enjoy a little down time and some music. What a gift it is to get to immerse ourselves in this wonderful art!

Reading:
I Must Betray You by Ruta Sepetys - a historical fiction novel about a 17-year-old boy in communist Romania. I enjoy Sepetys’ writing, although the topics she writes about are emotionally challenging. Suitable for both teen and adult readers.
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins - (Can you tell I’m raiding my teen daughter’s bookshelves?!) This is the back story of Coriolanus Snow from the popular Hunger Games series.
