Welcome to At Home with Classical Piano, a newsletter dedicated to helping pianists achieve artistic excellence in their playing and teaching.
Whether you are an amateur or professional pianist - with hours to dedicate to practicing, or dreams of finding ten minutes for yourself - it is possible to grow as a pianist and create a life of music that works for you. I know because I’m doing it, and I have been about this work for over 30 years, spanning single and married life, babies and toddlers, and now, graduating teenagers.

Who am I?
I’m Cori Belle, a concert pianist specializing in the fields of collaborative piano and choral music. I also run a piano studio. But my full-time gig for the last 17 years has been motherhood.
I hold a Bachelor’s of Music degree in Piano Performance with additional studies at the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. I also hold a K-8 teaching certificate. I’ve worked as a first grade teacher, a church pianist, a pianist and music director in musical theatre, and as a collaborative pianist. I have been accompanying choirs for over 30 years and I currently run a piano teaching studio filled with homeschool students.
At Home with Classical Piano is where I write about how to create a life in music around a family. Teaching piano in my living room is just a start! My faith in God and His call on my life as a musician and mother guide my choices in how I run my piano studio, which freelance accompanying gigs I take, how much time I dedicate to “keeping up my chops,” how I navigate cultural shifts in music and life (Hello, pandemic, and the advent of AI!), and what life as a performing musician looks like for a shy introverted mom dedicated to raising her family well.
Because I am also an educator at heart, I love helping other musicians get better at what they do. In addition to my writing, I create digital resources for piano teachers (like games, activities, and piano camps) and for choral accompanists (like guides to open score reading and tips on improving one’s accompanying skills).
My hope is that you find something here that supports you in your work and inspires you to continue to create, perform, and grow in whatever season you are in.
